Mitten Shadow in Monument Valley

Twice a year at sunset the Western Mitten in Monument Valley casts a shadow on the Eastern Mitten. This year it was March 30th and September 13th. I witnessed the shadow both the day before and the day after September 13th.

The crowds weren't as bad as I thought they would be. There were busloads of tourists but it was still easy to pick a spot to shoot from. It was a lot of fun, I'm glad I witnessed this cool event.
